About the position

The Financial Analyst (HS) at The Ohio State University is responsible for developing financial analyses of programs and projects within the James Cancer Hospital. This role involves preparing reports and presentations for the leadership team, collecting and validating data for scorecards and benchmarking, and managing development funds. The Analyst will also assist with month-end close journal entries, budgeting, and cost center reviews, providing technical support for decision-making and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop financial analyses of programs and projects.
  • Prepare analyses, reports, and presentations for the leadership team.
  • Collect and validate data for scorecards and benchmarking.
  • Manage financial aspects of development funds.
  • Assist with month-end close journal entries and analysis.
  • Conduct budgeting and cost center reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant business experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Financial Accounting, Budgeting, Cost Accounting, Financial Analysis, and/or Reimbursement, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets and PowerPoint, with exposure to Access.
  • Knowledge of SQL or other database tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with decision support data sources such as Tableau, Workday GL, SMS, IDX, Visionware, SRC, HCC, or Oracle-based databases is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous accounting and finance experience.
  • Highly developed computer skills.
  • Ability to create and present information to all levels of management.
