About the position
The Financial Analyst I - IT Services at GM Financial is responsible for supporting the development, tracking, reporting, and analysis of the IT budget. This role serves as a liaison between the IT department and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), requiring coordination with various departments to provide financial support and insights.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all aspects of the annual IT budget and budget management.
- Conduct analytical work involving the identification, compilation, documentation, analysis, and reporting of IT expenditures for expense/headcount tracking, project costing, and show-back reporting.
- Assist IT personnel and FP&A with finance-related inquiries/requests, including requisitions, purchase orders, SOWs, funding documents, and reforecasts.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and various business units to complete tasks with time-sensitive deadlines.
- Develop ad hoc analysis and presentations for upper-level management.
- Create, maintain, and analyze budget-related spreadsheets.
- Develop and maintain periodic reports.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of data and information resources.
- Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent work or military experience preferred.
- 0-2 years of experience in a similar role preferred.
- Knowledge of business processes for supported business groups.
- Knowledge of GM Financial's core business functions.
- Knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure, and operations.
- Basic understanding of Oracle Financial Management Solutions.
- Basic understanding of Apptio.
- Basic knowledge of finance/accounting principles.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
