About the position

The Financial Analyst I position at Essendant is designed for individuals who are eager to contribute to the financial planning and analysis functions of the company. Responsibilities

• Prepares and communicates management reporting and tracking for the supported business functions
• Assists with the development of periodic forecasts, annual budget, capital and long range plans
• Creates dynamic financial models to evaluate business scenarios and support business decisions
• Participates in continuous improvement efforts in the processes and tools used in planning, reporting and analysis activities
• Assists with preparation of Senior Management presentations
• Understands and demonstrates Essendant's Core Values
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• Zero to One (1) years of relevant experience in finance or accounting functions, preferably in a large corporate environment
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (e.g., pivot tables, v-lookup)
• Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple work assignments simultaneously
• Works well in a team environment and demonstrates the ability to interact with various professional levels within the organization
• Exceptional verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using database analytical tools such as Hyperion/Oracle Essbase/Toad a plus
