About the position

The Financial Analyst II position within Gwinnett County's Budget Division is pivotal in the budgetary planning and financial management processes. This role entails analyzing financial data, forecasting revenues and expenditures, understanding budgetary requirements, and offering recommendations to optimize resource allocation. The Financial Analyst II works closely with departments to develop, monitor, and adjust budgets, thereby contributing to the organization's financial objectives and ensuring fiscal responsibility. The incumbent will report to the Budget Manager within the Financial Services Budget Division, this position holds a central role in helping the organization achieve its financial goals and maintain fiscal responsibility. In this role, the Financial Analyst II will be responsible for developing and monitoring budgets, preparing financial reports, presentations, and dashboards, and providing departmental support. The analyst will interpret and analyze data effectively, utilize Microsoft Excel for analysis and reporting, enhance processes and procedures, conduct variance analysis, forecast revenues and expenses, review agendas and proposed amendments, and utilize ERP systems for financial data management. This position is essential for ensuring that the financial resources of Gwinnett County are managed effectively and efficiently, aligning with the county's mission to deliver superior services to its community.

Requirements
