The Financial Analyst II will be responsible for leading teams when necessary to resolve issues and will take on responsibilities for system initiatives, showcasing project management skills. This role requires advanced finance and development skills, along with basic financial report writing capabilities. In this position, the incumbent will maintain the utmost level of confidentiality and adhere to the health system and health plan policies and procedures. Ethical business practices and personal actions that align with corporate compliance and integrity guidelines are essential. The Financial Analyst II will be tasked with extracting data from the health plan data warehouse for analytical purposes and will analyze and compile financial information to prepare complex journal entries for the general ledger. The role also involves coordinating improvements to financial management systems and utilizing various software applications to manipulate and format data for reports. The Financial Analyst II will coordinate the budget formulation process for the health system, prepare and review financial statements, and assist with the year-end filing of reports and documents. This position requires collaboration with internal and external auditors, providing necessary financial information and resolving routine inquiries. The role is integral to the financial health of the organization, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities that support accounting, auditing, budgeting, and financial management functions.
  • Perform special projects and work assignments requiring originality and ingenuity.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Adhere to health system and health plan policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate ethical business practices and personal actions that align with corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
  • Extract data from the health plan data warehouse for analytical purposes.
  • Analyze and compile financial information for complex journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Coordinate improvements and modifications to financial management systems.
  • Utilize software applications to assemble, manipulate, and format data for reports.
  • Refine and develop financial policies and procedures for the health plan.
  • Coordinate resolution of accounting systems problems with the Information Systems Department.
  • Initiate and coordinate approval of wire transfers and funding transfers.
  • Examine and maintain assigned accounts with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Analyze, combine, and consolidate financial information into accurate reports.
  • Participate in the analytical review of financial results with financial management.
  • Assist with the departmental filing of reports and documents.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and reports, ensuring timely submission to outside agencies.
  • Coordinate the budget formulation process for the health system.
  • Prepare and review various Prepared By Client (PBC) schedules and work papers for auditors.
  • Responsible for FSR and TDI Reporting.
  • Perform other related work as required.

Requirements

  • Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.
  • Degree in Finance, Statistics, Data Mining and Analytics, Clinical Analytics, or Health Care Administration preferred, with a Master's degree or equivalent experience being ideal.
  • Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in the field of specialization.
