About the position

The Financial Analyst II position at the Utah National Guard is responsible for supporting the Financial Manager and managing various financial functions, including auditing and overseeing departmental budgets. This role involves analyzing financial data, ensuring accuracy and integrity in fiscal operations, and providing recommendations based on financial findings.

Responsibilities

• Audit and manage PCards, billing, Purchase Orders (PO), and departmental state and federal budgets.
• Research and review financial records, schedules, reports, and problem areas.
• Develop and interpret fiscal statements and reports.
• Reconcile financial statements and reports.
• Review fiscal operations to ensure integrity, accuracy, and control of data.
• Analyze, summarize, and review data; report findings, interpret results, and make recommendations.

Requirements

• Proven work experience in the finance/accounting area.
• Experience with monitoring and managing financial functions, especially with government-based funds.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other finance systems.
• Strong financial analyst skills.
