About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst at Bernhard LLC plays a crucial role in the Financial Analytics & Modeling team, focusing on financial modeling and analysis to support strategic decision-making in a fast-growing energy services company. This position involves building financial models, assisting in capital raising, and evaluating investment opportunities, all while fostering relationships with lenders and investors.

Responsibilities

  • Builds financial models of central utility, chilled water, and power projects to support executive decisions regarding pricing and capital structures.
  • Establishes relationships with potential lenders and investors.
  • Maintains financial models for project-level economics.
  • Runs sensitivities and scenarios based on capacity, costs, revenue, and regulations.
  • Supports the executive team in developing pricing strategies for projects.
  • Participates in meetings with legal counsel, tax experts, and accounting firms to understand regulations and tax treatments.
  • Applies advanced finance principles to analyze financial and non-financial information.
  • Facilitates communication between field finance & operations and corporate Profit & Budget Analysis.
  • Interprets financial data to assist management with strategic decisions.
  • Performs financial analysis of business results and recommends improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, economics, or engineering.
  • 7 - 10 years' experience with taxable/tax exempt debt placement/negotiation/valuation.
  • Outstanding analytical skills and expertise in developing Excel-based financial models.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Versed in the industry and the company's competitors.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • VBA experience.
  • 7 - 10 years minimum experience in financial/business analyst capacity.
  • 7 - 10 years minimum experience in financial modeling.
  • Functional experience in corporate finance, project finance, investment banking, fixed income.
  • Comfortable in a high-growth environment with changing priorities.
