About the position

The Financial Analyst II position at Yusen Logistics is a critical role within the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team, necessitated by the transition to a new financial system, Workday Adaptive. This position requires an individual with a minimum of three years of experience in financial analysis, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with ERP systems, particularly Workday Adaptive. The selected candidate will be instrumental in supporting the team during the development and testing phases of the new financial system, ensuring that the transition is smooth and effective. The role demands a proactive approach, as the individual will need to quickly adapt and contribute with minimal guidance, given the ongoing development of the system. In this role, the Financial Analyst II will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include preparing financial studies and surveys to analyze operational activities, assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and monitoring financial status by analyzing results and variances. The analyst will also develop and maintain reports to support the accounting function, reconcile transactions, and assist with special projects as assigned by management. Collaboration with various divisions will be essential, particularly in analyzing monthly results and improving the quality of financial data. The position also involves preparing monthly financial reports and conducting trend analysis of corporate overhead expenses, making it a dynamic and engaging role within the finance department.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation of financial studies and surveys to collect, summarize and analyze the financial results of operational activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor financial status by analyzing results and variances, identifying trends and making recommendations.
  • Develop, implement and maintain reports to support the organization accounting function as required.
  • Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data.
  • Assist on special projects as assigned by division management or general accounting.
  • Analyze and support consolidation process for YLA subsidiaries.
  • Collaborate in monthly analysis of results.
  • Review monthly financial reports prepared by accounting department and identify reasons for variances.
  • Support groups/divisions in improving quality of financial data.
  • Collect, consolidate and organize documents and data required for financial reports.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports by collecting, formatting, analyzing, and explaining information.
  • Conduct trend analysis of corporate overhead expenses and investigate fluctuations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, compliance or other related field.
  • Strong Excel skills are required.
  • Working knowledge of operational ERP systems required.
  • Strong Power Point or related presentation software is required.
  • Experience in financial analysis and accounting for logistics operations preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft D365 financial application & Workday Adaptive reporting module is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Power BI is highly desirable.
