About the position

The Financial Analyst III position at Fifth Third Bank is responsible for executing complex financial analyses and driving business improvement within the Wealth and Asset Management division. The role involves providing value-added analysis and recommendations to support business growth while ensuring compliance with risk management policies. The analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders to understand their information needs and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Understand key business factors impacting the organization.
  • Maintain knowledge of existing and emerging issues to assist business managers.
  • Develop recommendations and action plans to support growth and mitigate risks.
  • Execute financial analysis and drive business results.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly reports and investigate unusual items.
  • Maintain existing schedules and reports, documenting changes.
  • Evaluate and improve report designs and processes.
  • Develop trend analyses and quantitative reports to determine business trends.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining performance data systems.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with peers and management across the organization.
  • Participate in process improvement and problem resolution initiatives.
  • Assist with the preparation and analysis of annual profit plans and forecasts.
  • Analyze business performance and recommend improvements.
  • Provide training and guidance to less experienced analysts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Minimum of five years of accounting or finance-related experience in industry or public accounting.
  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP strongly desired.
  • Proficient with MS-Windows and related PC applications.
  • Desire and ability to learn mainframe applications and automated data analysis tools.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in performance measurement tools and technology.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain professional composure in a dynamic work environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or CPA preferred.
