About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst III - FP&A at Wolverine Worldwide plays a crucial role in supporting the Financial Planning and Analysis Team. This position involves analyzing financial data, developing forecasts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business improvements. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset, contributing to the company's mission of empowering and inspiring consumers.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze revenue, gross margin, and SG&A expense variances in actual results and across forecast iterations.
  • Communicate findings to management and initiate corrective actions where necessary with budget owners.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis on historical results highlighting key performance drivers and summarize actionable recommendations for management.
  • Summarize weekly key performance indicators including order intake, order backlog, and shipments with comparisons to expectations.
  • Assist in developing process and cadence for the annual operating plan, quarterly forecasts, and intra-quarter outlooks.
  • Develop and maintain financial models for forward-looking projections including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
  • Pressure test financial assumptions to identify areas of opportunity and risk, assisting in exploiting opportunities and developing risk contingencies.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather insights and drive improvements in forecasting across the organization.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve forecasting systems, tools, and processes to drive efficacy and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus five or more years of experience in finance or related role focused on analytics.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to effectively present data and the underlying story to management.
  • Advanced Excel skills including financial modeling and scenario analyses.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
