The position of Financial Analyst is responsible for conducting complex and interpretive financial analyses, providing periodic reports and special studies for management, and overseeing the annual budget process. This role involves forecasting, statistical reporting, financial performance analysis, variance explanations, and cost analysis. Additionally, the Financial Analyst will coach less-experienced Financial Analysts, ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment within the finance team. In this role, the Financial Analyst will provide complex planning and profitability reporting, oversee the maintenance and reporting of operational metrics, and offer detailed analytical support for various corporate functions and operations. This includes analyzing market dynamics, competitive information, mix enrichment, and internal cost drivers. The analyst will consult with the team to identify trends, performance enhancements, and cost-saving opportunities, while also researching and developing complex financial plans. The position requires the development of new analyses and financial metrics, engagement in project planning and implementation, and driving the annual budget process. The Financial Analyst will oversee the completion of projects, including planning, assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, as well as evaluating results. Coaching junior team members is also a key responsibility of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Provides complex planning and profitability reporting in Finance.
  • Oversees the maintenance and reporting of operational metrics.
  • Provides detailed analytical support for various corporate functions and operations (i.e. market dynamics, competitive information, mix enrichment, and internal cost drivers).
  • Consults with the team to analyze identified trends, performance enhancements, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Researches, develops, and conducts complex financial plans.
  • Develops new analysis and identifies new financial metrics.
  • Engages/develops project planning & implementation.
  • Drives the annual budget process.
  • Oversees the completion of projects or assignments including planning, assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc.
  • Coaches junior members of the team.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent experience required.
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in related field required.
  • Some supervisory experience required.
  • MS/MA/MBA preferred.
  • CPA/CFA license preferred.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Business and financial acumen.
  • Organizational, project and process management and leadership skills.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Business process analysis skills.
  • Attention to detail and quantitative analytical skills.
  • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of a particular field of specialization to the completion of complex assignments.

  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to assimilate broad source data into planning models.
  • Ability to identify variances and trends.
  • Strong knowledge of PC related tools for detailed analysis, technology applications, and data utilization.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to write standard reports that clearly communicate findings and methodologies.
