About the position

The Financial Analyst III position at UNM Hospitals is a full-time role focused on the preparation, compilation, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of financial data related to clinical operations. This position plays a critical role in providing financial analysis and long-term projections, including the development of ratios, graphs, and profitability reviews. The analyst will ensure adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. Importantly, this role does not involve any patient care assignments, allowing the analyst to concentrate solely on financial matters. In this role, the Financial Analyst III will be responsible for preparing financial analyses as directed, reviewing the profitability and performance of general ledgers, and providing financial support to operational managers within clinical operations. The analyst will also be tasked with developing business and financial recommendations for management, preparing and interpreting ratios and graphs for the hospitals, and generating and reviewing benchmarks to determine appropriate standards for the organization. Additionally, the analyst will prepare or review business plans and make recommendations based on their findings. The position requires the analyst to represent the hospitals in teams and meetings where financial expertise is necessary, collaborating closely with Finance and Budget Directors to maintain accurate reporting. The analyst will also monitor, evaluate, and resolve concerns or problems identified by both external and internal customers, forwarding these issues to the appropriate departments or units for further evaluation or action.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, evaluate and resolve concerns or problems identified by external and internal customers and forward to appropriate departments or units for further evaluation or action.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline
  • 3 years of directly related experience
