About the position

The Financial Analyst III position at See's Candies is a key role responsible for analyzing financial results and key performance metrics. This position supports the drafting, implementation, monitoring, and support of budgets and other financial reports. The analyst will work closely with budget managers and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and variance analysis, while also identifying opportunities for technology enhancements within the department.

Responsibilities

• Prepare headcount, operating expense, and capital budgets in collaboration with budget managers.
• Manage monthly variance analysis of financial results and conduct reviews with business partners.
• Champion FP&A best practices and assist business partners in improving the budget process.
• Partner with accounting teams to research and resolve unusual variances and enhance monthly financial reporting accuracy.
• Develop key benchmarks for sales channels and product cost areas in collaboration with business partners.
• Review reporting elements within the current chart of accounts with the Controller to enhance financial variance insights.
• Perform reporting and analysis as requested, including special projects as assigned.
• Identify opportunities to enhance technology and innovation for department effectiveness.

Requirements

• 4-7 years of financial planning and variance analysis experience, preferably in multi-channel retail or consumer products manufacturing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with Adaptive Planning is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate efforts across various business leads.
• Effective writing skills for structured communication within the company and to outside service providers.
• Self-motivated and highly organized with the ability to provide timely and accurate information.
• Ability to multi-task and handle diverse responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly and manage change efficiently.
