About the position

Jefferson Wells is seeking a Financial Analyst for Logistics Operations who will deliver financial analytic support for the North America logistics team of a large clean energy manufacturer. This role is critical in ensuring the financial integrity of logistics operations, focusing on freight invoice validation, supporting payment approval, financial reporting, and logistics spend systems improvements. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for finding ways to automate and improve processes while collaborating with multiple stakeholders to drive continuous improvements in the Supply Chain. The ideal candidate will have experience working with large data sets and will play a key role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of logistics operations. In this position, the Financial Analyst will audit vendors' invoices and collaborate with the Accounts Payable (AP) team to ensure successful payment of logistics invoices before payment terms are due. They will also be responsible for accruing unbilled invoices at the end of the month and analyzing operational and finance data to present actionable insights to senior team members and management. The role requires supporting the Finance group with logistics information for the monthly and quarterly close processes, utilizing an enterprise cost mindset to continuously improve cost and quality for the global material, service, and product distribution network. Additionally, the Financial Analyst will lead the collaboration with Finance for transportation contracts, cost accruals, and invoice payments, ensuring that all financial operations align with the company's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Audit vendors' invoices and collaborate with AP to ensure successful payment of logistics invoices before payment terms are due
  • Accrue for unbilled invoices at the end of the month
  • Analyze operational and finance data and present actionable insights to senior team members and management
  • Support the Finance group with logistics information for the monthly and quarterly close processes
  • Utilize enterprise cost mindset to continuously improve cost and quality for the global material, service, and product distribution network
  • Lead the collaboration with Finance for transportation contracts, cost accruals, and invoice payments

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, analytics, accounting or supply chain or the equivalent experience
  • 2+ years' experience in analytics, financial, accounting, account payable or a supply chain role with projects is a plus
  • Understanding of financial and accounting concepts and procedures within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with Excel, MS Access, SQL, Tableau, and other BI tools
  • Knowledge of VBA, R, or Python preferred
  • Detail Oriented
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver high quality results
