About the position

The Financial Analyst at Millennium Space Systems, a Boeing Company, plays a crucial role in managing all business finance systems, processes, controls, and reporting requirements for the portfolio. This position is integral to ensuring that the program is accurately structured in the books of record, specifically Costpoint, to account for and accrue costs, inventory, and liabilities in accordance with the applicable contract cost structure, including Program, CLINs, and Sub CLINs. The Financial Analyst will maintain adequate funding availability by projecting commitments and expenditures, assisting with the submission of funding requests to the US Government (USG). In addition, the Financial Analyst will provide guidance to control account managers and program managers regarding Earned Value Management System (EVMS) activities, which include forecasts, performance measurement, variance analysis, and corrective action plans. The financial Estimate at Completion (EAC) and program profit booking rates must be managed in compliance with company requirements, ensuring accuracy and timely updates according to the financial EAC procedure. The role also involves ensuring that the program operates in accordance with Millennium's Best Practices and Policies, including adherence to applicable EVMS level designation requirements. The Financial Analyst will implement and support the ongoing development of tools such as Cobra, MS Project, and MES, ensuring that program and company inventory and property are utilized, billed, and controlled properly. All customer reporting requirements must be compliant with contract stipulations and submitted punctually, including Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLS), reviews, and audits. The position requires clear communication between the program and USG business personnel, leading and supporting key meetings to build strong relationships. Additionally, the analyst will maintain cost and schedule performance measurement baselines, including earned value and variance analyses, while communicating trends in cost and schedule performance. Support for adjudicating all programmatic risk assessment data and coordinating management for cost and schedule aspects of potential contract changes, such as Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and overrun proposal adjustments, is also essential. The Financial Analyst must ensure clear communication and collaboration across all disciplines to support effective program execution.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the program is properly structured in Costpoint to account for costs, inventory, and liabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Financial Analyst or 8+ years of related work experience with a Master's degree.
  • Demonstrated experience in using MS Office suite products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Prior exposure to Earned Value metrics and rules.
  • Advanced Excel skills such as vlookup, pivot tables, index/match, conditional formatting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient with other Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
