About the position

The Financial Analyst Officer position is a full-time remote role responsible for performing complex analytics and providing support to the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Accounting Officer, and Financial Reporting Specialist. The role involves SEC and regulatory reporting, reviewing reconciliations, preparing auditor work papers, and providing analytical support as needed. The position does not have supervisory responsibilities but requires a strong background in finance and accounting.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the Bank and Holding company SEC and regulatory reporting.
• Review and certify reconciliations of all Bank and Holding Company general ledger accounts within Blackline.
• Prepare the monthly GL data validity report for Blackline.
• Prepare internal and external auditor work papers.
• Review deferred tax calculations and work papers.
• Review tax return work papers.
• Complete the FAS 91 study on deferred loan costs, prepare calculations, and make recommendations to management.
• Provide additional analytical support to the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Accounting Officer, and Financial Reporting Specialist, including report writing on Cognos and Spreadsheet Server.
• Provide backup and support to the Accounting Department Manager, including reviewing and approving batch postings.
• Provide backup and support to the Accounting Process Specialists.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• At least three years experience in a finance/accounting role.
• Cognos or other report writing experience preferred.
• Public reporting experience preferred.
• Excellent math skills and general knowledge of accounting principles.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, printers, and copiers.
• Pleasant telephone etiquette and ability to communicate effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with public reporting.
• Experience with Cognos or similar report writing tools.
