About the position

As a Financial Analyst at Google, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the company makes sound financial decisions. Your responsibilities will include modeling business scenarios and tracking performance metrics, which are essential for our leaders to make strategic decisions. You will be involved in multiple projects simultaneously, focusing on the details while also finding creative solutions to larger challenges. The Finance team at Google is known for its love of big numbers, and you will be providing in-depth analysis on various strategic decisions across Google products. Your work will include developing forward-thinking analyses, generating management reports, and scaling automated financial processes, making the Finance organization a vital partner and advisor to the business. In this role, you will manage and drive efficiency in core finance processes such as financial planning, management reporting, business reviews, and business planning. You will identify any organizational or financial process gaps that could jeopardize compliance or business success. Additionally, you will support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning cycles, driving visibility into business performance. You will own and manage the Payments Platform Allocations process, ensuring transparency into variances by quarter and providing insights into the allocations. Furthermore, you will build a holistic transaction cost dashboard that offers real-time updates on total transaction costs and the impact of fee savings initiatives. Your role will also involve assessing and reviewing partnership agreements and new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Manage and drive efficiency in core finance processes such as financial planning, management reporting, business reviews, and business planning.
• Identify organizational or financial process gaps that could jeopardize compliance or business success.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial planning cycles and drive visibility into business performance.
• Own and manage the Payments Platform Allocations process, including allocations into Platform and allocations out splits by cost center, providing transparency into variances by quarter.
• Build a holistic transaction cost dashboard that provides real-time updates on total transaction costs and the impact of fee savings initiatives.
• Help assess and review partnership agreements and new business opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, a related function, or a relevant advanced degree.
• Experience in analytical and modeling skills, including project management.
• Ability to convey complex messages clearly and concisely to different audiences.
• Problem solving and analysis skills, combined with business judgment and ability to communicate with management team.
• Leadership, influencing and communication skills; ability to create and foster cross-functional networks and manage without authority.
• Driven individual who can thrive in an unstructured environment, navigating ambiguity and bringing clarity and structure.
