About the position

The Financial Analyst for Plant Operations will play a pivotal role in the strategic management of finance responsibilities associated with Plant Operations at CommScope. This position is designed for a proactive individual who will partner with global and plant operations to identify improvements and enhance the financial acumen of non-finance employees. The analyst will be responsible for developing, interpreting, and reporting financial information for the Connectivity & Cable Solutions (CCS) plants in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with specified requirements. This role requires collaboration with local and global management teams to assist them in making financially sound business decisions aimed at maximizing profit and minimizing costs. Additionally, the analyst will develop cost reduction strategies that align with the business's short- and long-term objectives. In this role, the Financial Analyst will maintain and develop key performance measures and tracking systems for CCS plants, which will help measure progress and identify areas for improvement. The analyst will lead and develop process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the CCS plant finance teams and the overall performance of the plants. Responsibilities also include reviewing and loading forecasts for manufacturing variances and assisting with the annual planning process for the CCS plants and PCGS. The analyst will analyze labor costs, material costs, manufacturing overhead, and inventory levels, as well as validate Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs) and Profit Improvement Projects (PIPs). Furthermore, the analyst will ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Policies and SOX 404 requirements, resolving any questions regarding requirements and internal controls with corporate financial management.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with global and plant operations to identify improvements and enhance financial acumen of non-finance employees.
  • Develop, interpret, and report financial information for CCS plants in a timely manner to the Operations leadership team, corporate finance, and plant management.
  • Assist local and global management teams in making financially sound business decisions to maximize profit or minimize costs.
  • Develop cost reduction strategies that meet the business's short- and long-term objectives.
  • Maintain and develop key performance measures and tracking systems for CCS plants to measure progress and identify focus areas for improvement.
  • Lead and develop process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the CCS plant finance teams and overall plant performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a year or more of experience in accounting and finance, or an associate degree with four or more years of demonstrated ability in accounting and finance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Quick learner with a proven track record for learning and utilizing technology for problem-solving.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written correspondence with individuals at varying levels of authority.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Products, including Microsoft Excel.

  • Previous experience in manufacturing.
