About the position

As Senior Analyst, Plant Finance at the Oak Creek Plant, you will be an integral part of the Operations Accounting team within the Global Business Finance Support (GBFS) organization. This role is pivotal in supporting the Oak Creek Liquid and Resin plant site, where you will contribute significantly to the plant leadership teams. Your primary focus will be on performance improvement plans, utilizing detailed and insightful analytics to identify key areas for productivity and cost enhancement. You will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment and engagement towards achieving clearly defined project goals and deliverables. In this position, you will report directly to the Operations Accounting Manager, who is based at the GBFS headquarters in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. The role may involve supervising one direct report, emphasizing the leadership aspect of the position. You will be required to be onsite at the Oak Creek manufacturing plant five days a week, with occasional travel to the GBFS headquarters in Cranberry Township, PA, estimated at 2-3 times per year. Your contributions will include participating in plant meetings to provide insights on results, supporting and leading cost control initiatives, and generating and analyzing local and business unit KPIs. You will work closely with the Operations Analyst to conduct variance analysis and gain a comprehensive understanding of plant-level results. Additionally, you will lead the plant-wide budget process, coordinating efforts across departments to promote productivity and cost-saving initiatives. Your role will also involve developing reliable estimates of expenses related to expected volumes, completing month-end closing activities, and ensuring the accuracy of inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in plant meetings to provide insight on results, collect information and challenge performance.
  • Support and/or lead plant plans to control costs of operations.
  • Support the generation, analysis and explain the drivers for local and business unit KPIs.
  • Work with the Operations Analyst to provide variance analysis and full understanding of plant level results.
  • Lead plant wide budget process coordinating all departments and promoting productivity and cost savings initiatives and targets.
  • Partner with the Operations Analyst in developing short- and long-term reliable estimates of the level of expense to be incurred by the plant related to expected volumes.
  • Complete month end closing activities such as calculation or approval of journal entries, review of account balances and explanation of results to business unit finance.
  • Work with the plant leadership team to develop and execute a strategic roadmap for capital spending; ensure most critical projects are completed on time, on budget and are embedded in plans.
  • Conduct post-completion analysis of critical investments (capital or otherwise) to ensure key deliverables - both financial and operational - are being met.
  • Work with demand and supply teams to ensure visibility and optimize inventory health in raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Work with the MRO store room employees to verify inventory on hand is correct and that the inventory levels are appropriate.
  • Support Operations Accounting and Plant Operations team as the on-site liaison to optimize inventory.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and drive improvement around excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Work with the Operations Analyst to ensure that product costing reflects plant operations at a product level.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field with 5+ years of experience.
  • Prior cost accounting or manufacturing financial support experience required.
