About the position

The Financial Analyst and Cost Accountant role at Addison Group involves managing project cost accounting, conducting financial reviews, and collaborating with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and effective communication with project managers and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Create client invoices and work closely with Project Managers to review project data and monthly invoices from other teams.
  • Become the subject matter expert in BST 10, leveraging it for efficient project cost management.
  • Ensure timely invoicing and follow-up on receivables, overseeing collections efforts with proactive problem-solving.
  • Monitor and reconcile project costs.
  • Research and identify inconsistencies and patterns in timesheets, expenses, accounts receivable, and client invoices, providing innovative solutions.
  • Assist with the monthly revenue entries.
  • Generate and review financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate accounting practices, maintaining high standards of financial integrity.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager and finance team to effectively present financial information and data.
  • Execute projects to streamline and innovate financial processes, assist with software implementation and promoting efficiency.
  • Provide training and support to project teams on financial best practices and processes.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in Accounting
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting practices
