About the position

The Financial Analyst position at UF Health is focused on facilitating financial, clinical, and decision support information within a team environment. The role involves analyzing and synthesizing data from various systems to provide insights that support management objectives and improve operational efficiencies in the revenue cycle. The analyst will communicate complex data to leaders at all levels and assist in designing strategic initiatives to enhance revenue cycle performance.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate financial, clinical, and decision support information for interpretation of key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Analyze and synthesize data from multiple systems to provide information for informed business decisions.
  • Communicate complex data and information to leaders across the organization.
  • Work with a wide customer base to improve operational efficiencies and resource allocations.
  • Assist revenue cycle leaders in investigating and designing strategic initiatives to improve revenue cycle statistics and reporting capabilities.
  • Participate in initiatives to align processes with best practices for optimal results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance or a business-related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of two years of healthcare data analysis experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise and desktop applications, including Microsoft tools.
  • SQL report writing capabilities and experience with Business Objects and EPIC hospital information systems preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, coordination, and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply analysis, definition, and documentation for business, systems, and data processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and competence in problem definition and strategy development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with large relational databases and data warehousing.
  • Mastery of Business Intelligence report writing and visualization tools such as Epic Analytics, Business Objects, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex functions and formulas.
  • Proven ability to work with large amounts of data accurately.
