About the position

The position is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting financial data, as well as preparing reports, models, presentations, and recommendations for business leaders or clients. The role involves regular interaction with project managers and task leads, supporting moderately complex projects within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Prepares various accounting and financial reports, analyzes and verifies data and financial reports to produce financial results for assigned business units.
• Investigates and researches problem account reconciliation to improve controls over general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and balance sheet activity.
• Performs moderately to complex analysis, gathers, compiles, and interprets financial data to ensure compliance with applicable regulations or guidelines.
• Analyzes and prepares journal entries, monthly account reconciliation, and responds to internal and external auditors, management, and finance department inquiries.
• Handles special requests and researches moderately complex accounting issues, preparing financial data for presentation to upper management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, related field, or equivalent technical training, or an additional 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• 3 years of accounting/financial experience with a good understanding of GAAP, STAT, and federal regulations.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Eligible
• Healthcare insurance industry experience strongly preferred.
