About the position

The Financial Analyst/Senior Accountant role involves assisting with monthly reporting, forecasting, analysis, and related projects. The position requires close collaboration with the CFO and management to prepare forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis, with a primary focus on enhancing corporate value and improving reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly reporting and forecasting.
• Prepare budgets and conduct variance analysis.
• Spearhead new projects to enhance corporate value.
• Analyze and report budget vs. actual results.
• Work independently and communicate with all levels of management and outside vendors.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of financial analysis or management accounting experience.
• BA/BS degree in accounting or finance.
• Excellent Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
• Strong systems background.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling in Excel.
• Experience with accounting and general ledger processes, including monthly close.

Nice-to-haves

• Access or other database experience.
• Cost analysis/Cost Accounting experience.
• Experience with Sage software.
• Familiarity with DataRails or similar Excel-centric database systems.
• Background in mining, construction, or heavy equipment.
