About the position

The Financial Analyst Sr. position within the Tactical Missiles Finance Team at Lockheed Martin is designed for an experienced professional with a strong background in business, finance, or accounting. This role focuses on defense contract budgeting, earned value measurement, forecasting, analysis, and reporting. The analyst will support various program finance functions, ensuring financial performance is effectively communicated to senior management and that contracts adhere to established parameters and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage financial metrics for the business area.
  • Communicate financial performance to senior management effectively.
  • Support the Contract Status Reviews (CSRs) process, including presenting financial data to senior management.
  • Lead the preparation of budgets and schedules for contract work.
  • Perform financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis.
  • Conduct employee analyses and prepare reports to ensure contracts are within negotiated parameters.
  • Assist in schedule risk assessments to identify and mitigate program cost and scheduling risks.
  • Maintain accurate records of expenditures and prepare expenditure projections.
  • Submit timely requests for additional funding to the government.
  • Incorporate contractual changes into control systems.
  • Maintain awareness of outstanding work against each contract to ensure realistic cost and schedule baselines.

Requirements

  • Three (3) or more years of related experience.
  • Experience establishing/managing program cost baselines.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management and conducting Estimate at Complete (EAC) analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
  • Experience preparing analysis and recommendations for leadership presentation.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Experience developing and reporting business metrics.
  • Knowledge of Government contracting and pricing.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to drive financial decisions to closure and strong business acumen.
  • Proven self-starter and team player.
