About the position

The Financial Analyst position at Richter Consulting, Inc. (RCI) offers a unique opportunity to work within a specialized consulting practice based in Chicago. RCI is part of the Richter Group and serves a diverse clientele, including US-based leverage lenders, private equity firms, and major banks. The firm is composed of a multidisciplinary team of approximately 20 professionals, including 6 partners, who provide expert consulting services in various areas such as Business Assessment, Cash Flow Forecasting, Financial Reorganization, Profitability Improvement, Crisis Management, Transaction Advisory, and Asset-Based Lending Diligence. As a Financial Analyst, you will engage in stimulating projects that typically last between 6 to 7 weeks, collaborating with a team of 3-4 professionals. The role involves delivering consulting services to companies across multiple industries, including Consumer Products, Pharmaceuticals, Distribution, Services, and Manufacturing. These companies often face challenges related to over-leverage, liquidity issues, under-performance, and macroeconomic events. You will gain exposure to sophisticated companies and have the chance to apply your accounting and finance fundamentals to real-life situations, contributing to customized work products that yield tangible results and actionable recommendations. The position also emphasizes professional development, providing opportunities to enhance both soft and technical skills while working directly with experienced partners. Responsibilities

  • Work within a multidisciplinary team on various consulting engagements.
  • Deliver consulting services to companies facing financial challenges.
  • Conduct business assessments and cash flow forecasting.
  • Assist in financial reorganization and profitability improvement efforts.
  • Participate in crisis management and transaction advisory services.
  • Analyze operational and corporate strategies, revenue drivers, and cost savings opportunities.
  • Develop and present actionable recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative analyses.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of relevant experience in CPA Audit, FP&A, or CFA roles.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Alteryx or Power Query/Pivot is a plus.
  • Strong aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analyses.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a changing environment.
  • Desire to develop new skills and enhance professional capabilities.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, and organizational skills.
  • A positive and energetic attitude.
