About the position

At Apple, the Financial Analyst for US Sales FP&A plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of the organization. This position is integral to the Finance group, which is dedicated to supporting Apple's growth and maintaining its commitment to excellence. The analyst will be responsible for forecasting and monitoring actuals related to Cost of Sales, Headcount, and Operating Expenses. This includes preparing and presenting deliverables such as variance analysis to Corporate FP&A. The role also involves driving the quarterly closing process to ensure accurate financial recording in collaboration with various services and Corporate Finance groups. In addition to these responsibilities, the analyst will support the US Sales annual and quarterly strategic planning by providing financial modeling for OPEX, COGS, and HC by Line of Business or Route-to-Market. The position also entails supporting the quarterly quota setting process and managing commissions. The analyst will build and publish management reporting on various financial metrics for US Channel Sales leadership, designing and delivering insightful reporting and dashboards to drive financial and operational excellence. Collaboration is key in this role, as the analyst will partner with data experts to enhance analytics and reporting capabilities using tools such as Excel and Tableau. The ability to influence cross-functional business partners to identify and solve operational challenges is essential for success in this position. Responsibilities

  • Forecast and monitor actuals related to Cost of Sales, Headcount, and Operating Expense.
  • Prepare and present deliverables including variance analysis to Corporate FP&A.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of finance experience or related forecast/planning experience.
  • BS/BA or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven advanced Excel skills required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once and deliver results in a demanding and quickly-changing environment.
  • Ability to quickly build relationships and partner cross-functionally at all levels of the organization.
  • High level of integrity, attention to details, enthusiasm, and agility.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with flawless attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with integrated accounting systems (SAP) and other reporting tools (Essbase, Business Objects, Tableau, FileMaker) preferred.
  • Experience with data analytics/visualization software (e.g. Tableau), enterprise software systems (e.g. Essbase, Business Objects) and Excel is strongly preferred.
