The Financial Analyst at YMCA of the USA plays a crucial role in developing the annual budget and periodic forecasts while analyzing the organization's financial performance. Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the development of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
  • Provides analysis of Y-USA's financial performance.
  • Supports internal departments and project leads in developing financial projections and analysis.
  • Interprets operating results and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Synthesizes complex data into charts or dashboards to highlight key indicators.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to gather relevant data and ensure accurate analysis and reporting.
  • Prepares periodic operating and cash flow forecasts.
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual operating, capital expenditure, and cash flow budgets.
  • Maintains analysis of actual vs. projected results for internal projects.
  • Inputs payroll data in coordination with the HR department.
  • Responsible for timely filing and remittance of payroll taxes and reporting.
  • Prepares confidential reporting related to pay-related transactions.
  • Leads workers compensation insurance audit and unemployment trust activities.
  • Records journal entries related to payroll activities for month-end close.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • CPA is a plus.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an accounting or finance department.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software.
  • Experience in financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Ability to explain business results to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change.

  • Prior experience with non-profit/social services organizations preferred.
