About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to join our dynamic team for a government client in Arlington, VA. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial analysis, finance, and reporting, contributing to the financial management and reporting processes for our client.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial analysis, reconciliations and error corrections for the client.
• Create and verify obligations and accruals.
• Run and analyze Financial and Business Management System (FBMS) reporting at the detailed level for all transactions and customers.
• Coordinate with client's customers on analyses of charges, as needed, to effect collection of funds.
• Review and correct any errors in financial transactions in the client's financial system.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software applications for analysis and reporting.
• Strong quantitative research skills with an ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Excellent financial report writing skills, capable of communicating findings clearly.
• Solid understanding of financial planning processes and methodologies.
• Familiarity with corporate accounting standards and practices.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
