About the position

The Financial Analyst position at the Department of Defense involves providing detailed analysis and support in various functional areas such as payroll, travel, expenditure accounting, and compliance. The role is essential for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial transactions and reporting within the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA).

Responsibilities

• Follows accounting operating procedures for accurate and efficient processing of financial transactions.
• Performs daily/monthly reconciliations of various accounting processes to ensure the general ledger to subsidiary ledger are balanced in support of financial statements.
• Advises managers on any data integrity issues.
• Trains entry-level technicians as requested by management.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. National.
• Must meet minimum age requirement.
• Must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level or a Master's degree or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education in a related field.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance eligibility based on an appropriate background investigation.
