About the position

This position is located in the US Army Special Operations Command DCS, Comptroller Office of the Chief at Fort Liberty, NC. The role involves providing guidance and oversight for command-wide Risk Management and Internal Control (RMIC) efforts, developing and maintaining an Internal Control Evaluation Plan (ICEP), and facilitating the identification and reporting of Material Weaknesses and control deficiencies. The position also includes serving as the DCSCMP OIP Coordinator and assisting internal and external agencies with inspections and audit findings.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and oversight for command-wide Risk Management and Internal Control (RMIC) efforts.
• Assist in developing and maintaining an Internal Control Evaluation Plan (ICEP).
• Facilitate the process for identifying and reporting Material Weaknesses, significant deficiencies, and control deficiencies.
• Ensure all required information is developed and reported in the RMIC Annual Statement of Assurance.
• Serve as DCSCMP OIP Coordinator.
• Provide assistance to internal and external agencies regarding their inspections, surveys, and/or audit findings and recommendations.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience in developing recommendations for improved work methods and operational processes.
• Experience in communicating with staff and component organizations as a subject matter expert in developing internal controls and Risk Management programs.
• Ability to provide leaders with detailed briefings on the adequacy and accuracy of managerial and financial systems.
