About the position

The Financial Analyst position at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates involves providing financial guidance and process ownership, managing budgets, and collaborating with various teams to ensure financial performance aligns with company objectives. The role requires a strong analytical background and the ability to communicate financial insights effectively to influence decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Compile and analyze monthly financial and productivity reports for Washington operations
  • Manage, maintain and monitor the budget and forecasting process working closely with budget owners
  • Collaborate to develop and monitor metrics to measure planned vs. actual performance
  • Prepare variance explanations for company performance reporting
  • Develop short and long-term business plans balancing supply and processing capacity
  • Estimate vintage product costs based on planned expenses and production qualities
  • Provide vintage product cost to planning for annual and long-term plans
  • Maintain the costing model for scenario planning and ad hoc analysis
  • Work with viticulture, winemaking, and planning teams to balance production and grape supply with sales forecasts
  • Lead the planning process by collaborating with budget owners
  • Establish regular communication with management to influence decisions through financial insights
  • Identify opportunities and corrective action plans based on customer objectives
  • Evaluate issues from a control and compliance perspective
  • Educate customers on financial performance and objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of financial analysis experience, preferably with a manufacturing or consumer products company
  • Track record of collaboration and ability to handle multiple priorities within strict deadlines
  • Professional skepticism with ability to move between detail and big picture
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Complete understanding of budget and forecast cycles, experience with planning software
  • Prior work with and understanding of financial statements
  • Experience with net present value and business case development
  • Comfort in bringing clarity to ambiguous information
  • Demonstrated history in process improvement
  • Advanced MS Office skills
