About the position

The Financial Analyst position at OhioGuidestone involves managing and analyzing financial data to support the organization's operations and ensure compliance with accounting principles. The role focuses on reviewing accounts payable, preparing financial statements, and providing insights to management for decision-making. The analyst will also work on improving efficiency in financial processes and assist with audits and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Review accounts payable invoices for proper accounting.
  • Ensure work processes comply with existing policies/procedures and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Analyze daily functions and account reconciliations related to cash receipts, accounts payable, and payroll processing.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and accruals related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Prepare monthly draft financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.
  • Complete monthly analysis of financial reports to ensure accuracy of account distribution.
  • Prepare financial reports for management regarding departmental operations and costs.
  • Maintain the agency's general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts.
  • Manage, reconcile, and record credit card charges and petty cash funds.
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations between the general ledger and subsidiary ledger.
  • Complete account reconciliations between the general ledger and financial statements.
  • Manage grant funds as necessary.
  • Review and verify monthly results, providing commentary on variances and forecasts.
  • Track financial status by monitoring variances from budget.
  • Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data.
  • Provide information to management by assembling and summarizing data, preparing reports, and making recommendations.
  • Assist with year-end financial audit and maintain procedure manuals.
  • Perform Ad Hoc financial analyses.
  • Create and maintain key financial performance indicators.
  • Allocate and track various program expenses.
  • Prepare monthly ratio reports to analyze agency performance.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and demonstrate positive leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounting required.
  • Demonstrated advanced level skill with Excel.
  • Familiarity with accounting software programs, NetSuite preferred.
  • Ability to take and pass a physical exam and drug screening.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License with a safe driving record and valid insurance.
