About the position

The Financial Analyst position at Carter's involves providing financial reporting and analytical support for the company's financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes. The role focuses on consolidating financial data, preparing materials for key meetings, and supporting the management of budgeting and forecasting for various business segments. The analyst will also engage in strategic initiatives and ad hoc analyses to identify areas for improvement and support business investments.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the consolidation of the financial and strategic planning processes.
  • Support the consolidation and reporting of quarterly projections, Annual Operating Plan, and 5-year Strategic Plan.
  • Prepare materials for key meetings such as Monthly Business Review meetings and Board of Directors meetings.
  • Research forecast variances to determine key drivers and provide feedback to management.
  • Partner with Hyperion/IT teams to automate reporting to improve turnaround time and accuracy.
  • Communicate all forecast deliverables to various business partners and manage the collection and consolidation.
  • Manage the budgeting/forecasting of revenue plans by partnering with sales planning team and functional leaders.
  • Create and maintain financial models focused on budgeting and forecasting of revenue and expense items.
  • Perform monthly variance analysis and develop business cases and investment summaries.
  • Support strategic initiatives and ad hoc analysis as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field (preferred).
  • 0 - 3 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
  • Familiarity with accounting concepts and ability to analyze financial statements.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
