About the position

The Financial Analyst position at Newmark involves monitoring and analyzing financial data related to multifamily properties, including rent rolls and lease reports. The role requires creating visual presentations of data for marketing purposes and conducting comprehensive market research to inform decision-making. The analyst will collaborate with brokers and the Global Support Team to ensure accurate and timely reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze rent rolls, financials, lease trade out reports, and delinquency reports throughout the marketing and due diligence process.
  • Create packageable charts, graphs, tables, and content narratives for BOVs, offering memorandums, and other marketing pieces, partnering with graphic designers for content placement.
  • Conduct rental market analysis and sales comparisons for multifamily properties.
  • Research and analyze market occupancy, rental rates, trends, new supply/absorption, and home values/sales.
  • Complete demographic and economic research related to labor market trends, population growth, and projections.
  • Perform public records research including tax, sale, owner, and other relevant information.
  • Communicate regularly with brokers and team members regarding workflow and priorities.
  • Leverage the Global Support Team for assistance with underwriting and other assignments.
  • Monitor and maintain the internal deal tracking system for BOVs, new listings, and awarded deals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Real Estate, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Proficient technical writing skills.
  • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information for real estate transactions.
  • Knowledge of CoStar, Real Estate Capital Analytics, Axiometrics, and other real estate data sources is a plus.
  • Strong deductive reasoning, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently.

  • Experience with real estate data sources such as CoStar and Axiometrics.
