About the position

The Financial Analyst position at Altair Engineering involves detailed evaluation of contractor quotations, budget tracking, cost reporting, and cash flow management. This role is essential for ensuring accurate financial oversight in construction projects, requiring strong analytical skills and experience in financial analysis within the engineering and construction sectors.

Responsibilities

• Detailed evaluation of contractor quotations for change orders.
• Update budget tracking tools based on change orders and identify/report budget concerns.
• Monthly journal corrections/accruals by project budgets.
• Monthly and YTD cost reporting by project budgets.
• Creation of monthly cost reports and conducting cost analysis.
• Review invoicing and ensure timely payments.
• Support cash flow management and report status.
• Support purchase order requisitions.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience as a cost and financial analyst.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Adobe.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD (preferred) or BlueBeam (acceptable).
• Experience in the construction field.

Nice-to-haves

• Degree in engineering or construction management, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of RSMeans.
• Scheduling experience.
