About the position

The Financial Analyst position at Nautilus Insurance Group is a critical role within the Finance team, responsible for supporting accurate financial reporting and providing insights to enhance operational efficiency. This role involves analyzing financial performance, assisting in budget preparation, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, all while working in a hybrid environment at the Scottsdale headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze operating unit performance and provide variance analysis to summarize results and provide recommendations to management.
  • Analyze quarterly financial activity and compile quarterly CFO Call workbook for review by Controller and CFO and submission to President and Corporate headquarters.
  • Assist in the completion of all aspects of the annual budget.
  • Identify and proactively provide solutions for automation and process improvement.
  • Provide key reports to various internal and external customers including ad-hoc requests and development of new reports.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly journal entries.
  • Reconcile account balances to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Sarbanes Oxley and internal controls.
  • Support key projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • 3+ years of accounting and finance experience in a corporate environment
  • CPA designation is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP or Statutory accounting principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects effectively
  • Deadline driven
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience required
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
