About the position

At LiveOnNY, we save lives, provide comfort, and strengthen legacies through organ, eye, and tissue donation for the 13 million New Yorkers we serve. LiveOnNY is a nonprofit federally designated organ procurement organization (OPO) that facilitates donation for transplantation in the greater New York City area. Our teams work with local hospitals and transplant centers to deliver the gift of life to New Yorkers currently waiting for lifesaving transplants. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Analyst to join our talented Finance team. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accuracy and integrity in all financial data, and advising on business investments and financial strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for handling annual budget monitoring and reporting throughout the year. You will analyze financial data and provide forecasting support, prepare reports and projections based on financial data, and participate in budget development while analyzing and managing departmental budget variances. You will also recommend areas of investments, evaluate current and previous financial data, and keep abreast of industry-related news while analyzing the implications of news and industry developments. Additionally, you will create and maintain credit models, including analysis of financials, capital, and organizational structures. You will create and modify custom Excel worksheets for developers to use to detail their financial plans, prepare memoranda detailing corporate and project financial strength, credit risks, and funding gaps, and perform risk assessments of credit and collateral to ensure loan stability and sound credit quality. Your role will also involve researching, developing, and implementing programs that promote economic development, performing sensitivity analyses, and initiating financial feasibility studies on complex business development proposals. You will analyze data, trends, and variances, anticipate business requirements, and build insights for the business, completing other similar tasks as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in finance or accounting is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of financial analysis experience.
  • Proficiency with financial modeling and accounting acumen.
  • Advanced analytical skills.
  • Fluency with Excel and supporting financial software.
  • Proficiency in financial concepts and math.
  • Strong strategic planning abilities.
  • Experience with analytics tools.
  • Knowledge of governmental accounting principles.
  • Understanding of corporate finance practices.
  • Ability to create data visualizations for reporting purposes.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen for decision support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
