If you're passionate about transforming data into actionable insights and have a strong understanding of e-commerce, finance, and technology, this role is for you. As a Business Intelligence Analyst at Poly and Bark, you will be at the forefront of analyzing financial performance across our e-commerce channels, identifying trends, and driving business growth. In the Financial Analyst role, you will dive deep into our e-commerce channels, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement that will drive our business forward. You will write, debug, and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction from multiple sources, ensuring data accuracy and consistency. Additionally, you will create and maintain sophisticated financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning, helping us make informed business decisions. Clear documentation of business processes and technical requirements will be essential to ensure seamless operations. You will also translate complex data into practical strategies by preparing detailed financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for management. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with our accounting, operations, purchasing, and marketing teams to gather data and support strategic initiatives. Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and providing regular updates to stakeholders will ensure we are always on track. Lastly, you will take charge of maintaining enterprise software and ensuring data integrity across our systems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial performance across e-commerce channels, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Write, debug, and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction from multiple sources.
  • Create and maintain sophisticated financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning.
  • Document business processes and technical requirements to ensure seamless operations.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for management.
  • Collaborate with accounting, operations, purchasing, and marketing teams to gather data and support strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Maintain enterprise software and ensure data integrity across systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, with a focus on e-commerce and finance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong proficiency in MS SQL with the ability to write and optimize complex queries.
  • Understanding of accounting, inventory, and the e-commerce industry.
  • Ability to learn new software and skills quickly, with experience in PowerBI or other business intelligence tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Sellercloud or similar e-commerce platforms is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with accounting and ERP systems is a big plus.
