About the position

The Financial Analyst will report directly to the Controller and will be responsible for many cross-functional accounting areas at PacStar, a manufacturing company. This position requires a high level of accounting knowledge specific to inventory costing, controls and analysis, sales order entry and processing, and overall general accounting functions. This is a hands-on role within the accounting team that will be expected to have a working knowledge of sales order processing including quote to cash, full cycle accounting operations, G/L reconciliations, US GAAP, and compliance within the manufacturing industry. PacStar is implementing SAP/S4 Hana with a go-live target date of February 2026, and this role will be involved in the implementation and transition to this new system. This position requires someone with a high attention to detail, an effective cross-functional team player that is able to manage within timelines in a dynamic work environment. PacStar is a rapidly-growing organization and over time this position will be responsible for expanding areas and needs within the accounting team.

Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing costing
  • Customer contract analysis and revenue analysis
  • Accurate and timely sales order processing (quote to cash) and accounting
  • GL and sub-ledger account reconciliations
  • Assist with the preparation of journal entries and accruals/adjustments for period-end closing
  • Assist with internal audit and tax preparation workpapers and analysis
  • Investigate discrepancies and inform manager of critical issues and observations
  • Perform Ad-hoc reporting and analysis, as needed
  • Maintain accounting procedures in compliance with applicable government regulations; including, but not limited to, SOX, GAAP, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 4 - 7 years of progressive experience in Accounting, ideally with manufacturing industry experience
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of sales order processing (quote to cash)
  • Requires ability to problem solve independently
  • Ability to work in a dynamic cross-functional environment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail and quality orientation a must
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and adhere to tight deadlines
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience with Sage, Avalara, SAP, Concur and Crystal Reporting a plus

Nice-to-haves

  • ERP conversion experience a plus
