About the position

The Financial Analyst position is a critical role within the finance team, primarily focused on supporting the budgeting and forecasting processes, month-end closing activities, and variance analysis. This role will also involve cash flow modeling and various ad hoc projects that contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for preparing, reconciling, and maintaining budgets, ensuring that they align with the organizational objectives and are accurate. This includes developing balance sheet and cash flow forecasting models, which will be reviewed monthly to identify areas for continuous improvement. In addition to budget preparation, the Financial Analyst will participate in the month-end close process, conducting variance analysis of expenses and reconciling gross margins. Collaboration with staff accountants is essential during the close process to ensure that proper accruals are made. The role also requires the development of models aimed at improving the efficiency and accuracy of expense forecasting, as well as updating monthly sales and allowance reporting. The Financial Analyst will assist in maintaining the budget database and actively participate in the integration of two recently acquired companies into the financials. Tracking monthly expenses and identifying opportunities for savings will be a key responsibility, along with updating and maintaining the bonus compensation model. The Financial Analyst will also be tasked with reconciling and resolving charge-backs, ensuring compliance with SOX by collecting documentation to support audit requirements, and coordinating between internal and audit resources. Contract administration is another important aspect of this role, which includes managing contracts throughout their lifecycle, from negotiation and execution to compliance monitoring. The Financial Analyst will also develop and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services while optimizing costs and quality. Additionally, the role involves coordinating procurement activities, including sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management, to support operational needs efficiently. Finally, the Financial Analyst will support project initiatives by providing financial analysis, tracking project expenses, and ensuring adherence to project budgets and timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, reconcile, and maintain budgets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a relevant field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management or related roles
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and precision in financial analysis and reporting
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make data-driven recommendations
  • Effective problem-solving abilities, capable of identifying issues and implementing practical solutions
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey financial information clearly to stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced functions and formulas, for financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting purposes
