The Salvation Army is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our NCI Division at the Headquarters in Chicago, IL. This position is crucial for providing management reporting and analysis to all NCI Financial Departments, ensuring that departments and programs receive the financial analysis support necessary for effective operation management and compliance with established policies and procedures. The Financial Analyst will play a key role in assisting with financial service responsibilities, including reconciliation and financial reporting, which are essential for the organization's fiscal health and operational efficiency. In this role, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for conducting regular analyses of actual versus budget income and expenses, helping Department and Program Directors make informed decisions. The analyst will also assist in preparing financial summary reports for presentations to Advisory Boards and will be involved in budget preparation and month-end/year-end closing procedures. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Accumatica Financial Reporting, the analyst will develop and deploy standardized management reporting, conduct quarterly finance review meetings, and prepare monthly financial dashboards and statements. Additionally, the Financial Analyst will coordinate the annual internal audit, assist with compliance audits, and provide training to staff on financial recordkeeping and reporting. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improving financial controls and practices, ensuring that the organization maintains its commitment to fiscal responsibility and transparency. The analyst will also be involved in various financial services, including the preparation of annual consolidation reports and tax forms, as well as managing pension activities and unclaimed property. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and Divisional Director of Finance, and the successful candidate will be evaluated based on the effectiveness of their outcomes, the timeliness and accuracy of their work, and the responsiveness of staff and professional contacts to the services provided.
