About the position

The Financial Analyst at M.C. Dean plays a crucial role in supporting the manufacturing leadership team by ensuring accurate cost allocation and project completion tracking. This position involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and assisting in budget development, all while maintaining compliance with accounting principles and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with manufacturing leadership to ensure proper allocation of costs and percentage completion of projects.
• Review cost ledgers weekly/monthly and enter adjustments into the accounting system as needed.
• Ensure accurate and timely cost transfer to main project jobs each month.
• Maintain internal bill of material costing system for make vs buy analysis and product costing.
• Assist with material consumption process and review weekly/monthly to ensure alignment with project budgets.
• Perform month-end financial adjustments and month-closing steps for assigned projects or financial entities.
• Assist in the creation of shared service center month-end reporting and prepare financial results for monthly reviews.
• Help manufacturing site leaders prepare and present effective monthly Key Project Reviews.
• Engage with manufacturing management to develop annual shared service center budgets and manpower forecasts.
• Work on the creation and submission of site capital expenditure requests and ensure project costs remain within approved budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2-4 years of related experience in financial analysis or accounting.
• Knowledge of general accounting principles.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organization, communication, and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail in completing work tasks.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.
