About the position

Wunder is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team in Boulder, CO, as we strive to accelerate the deployment of solar energy and address the pressing energy crisis of our generation. This role is pivotal in evaluating sites for solar potential, driving market expansion efforts, and developing commercial-scale solar projects across the country. As a Financial Analyst, you will work cross-functionally with various teams, including Account Managers, to structure transactions that align with our investment and risk criteria. Your analytical skills will be essential in conducting detailed research and providing insights that will help shape our strategic direction in the renewable energy sector. In this position, you will leverage our proprietary software platform, which standardizes diverse markets and automates processes based on encoded policy criteria. This will allow you to pinpoint common attributes across portfolios, facilitate quality assurance, and identify optimization opportunities. You will also collaborate directly with our Tech team to encode your market intelligence into our software, ensuring that valuable lessons learned are integrated into future processes. This role is designed for someone who is detail-oriented, quantitative, and eager to contribute to a team that is rapidly expanding its commercial customer base and solar development initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Evaluate sites for solar potential and drive market expansion efforts through detailed research.
  • Develop commercial-scale solar projects across the country.
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to Account Managers.
  • Aid in structuring transactions to fit investment and risk criteria.
  • Collaborate with the Tech team to encode market intelligence into proprietary software.
  • Conduct market research and analyze data to support decision-making processes.
  • Prepare presentations and reports that communicate quantitative findings to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Recent graduate with a solid foundation of career experience in Project Management, Finance, Economics, Solar Development, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with managing details and working with spreadsheets.
  • Ability to conduct market research and think critically about data.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for presenting findings to executive-level stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and thrive in a team-oriented environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in renewable energy or solar development.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling and analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Proficiency in data visualization software.
