About the position

The Financial Analyst position at Parkview Health is a critical role within the Asset Management team, focusing on the creation, tracking, and reconciliation of assets purchased by the organization. This position is responsible for maintaining and analyzing financial records and accounts, budgeting, and providing audit support for Parkview Health. The analyst will perform functions associated with both internal and external financial reporting, as well as the analysis of routine and complex financial transactions. These transactions may occur at the general ledger level or within underlying operational systems such as Strata, Decision Support, and EPIC. In this role, the individual must possess a strong understanding of the effects of financial activities and be able to report findings to management in a clear financial statement or management reporting format. The position requires significant interaction with databases and large volumes of data, necessitating the ability to interpret, validate, and articulate results effectively. Additionally, the analyst will be tasked with reconciling sub-systems and related balance sheet accounts, resolving variances, and suggesting initiatives for control and process strengthening. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong analytical and accounting skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as the role involves working independently while also being open to guidance from others. The ability to manage multiple tasks from various customers simultaneously is crucial, along with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Knowledge of third-party payer reimbursement, coding, and documentation requirements is beneficial, as is proficiency in software programs including Excel, Word, General Ledger systems, and business intelligence software.

Responsibilities

  • Create, track, and reconcile assets purchased by Parkview Health.
  • Maintain and analyze financial records and accounts.
  • Provide budgeting and audit support for Parkview Health.
  • Perform internal and external financial reporting functions.
  • Analyze routine and complex financial transactions at the general ledger or operational system level.
  • Reconcile sub-systems and related balance sheet accounts, resolving variances and suggesting control initiatives.
  • Interpret, validate, and articulate results from large volumes of data.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive financial accounting or analyst experience, or a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or other quantitative field.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of three years public accounting audit experience or five years in private accounting, finance, or operations analysis, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks from various customers.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in software programs including Excel, Word, General Ledger systems, and business intelligence software.

Nice-to-haves
