About the position

The Financial Analyst position is responsible for providing professional financial knowledge and skills to support financial decision-making. This role involves budget preparation, financial reporting, and performance metrics monitoring under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares operating/grants/capital budgets with departments based on actual performance and other factors.
  • Monitors and tracks operating/grants/capital budgets for financial reporting.
  • Develops current year estimates on department expenditures and revenue.
  • Writes and reviews financial documents.
  • Monitors and tracks performance measures and assesses data accuracy and methodology.
  • Assists in the compilation of monthly management reports.
  • Conducts research for special projects.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge through workshops and professional societies.

Requirements

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, accounting, public administration, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of financial management.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of financial and quantitative analysis.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of public administration and budgeting.
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop recommendations.
  • Ability to compile and interpret data.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with management and employees.
  • Ability to develop financial forecasts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
