About the position

The Financial Analyst at Point B plays a crucial role in driving financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and operational support across the organization. This position focuses on financial planning, investment analysis, and monitoring performance metrics, ensuring that the company meets its strategic goals. The Analyst collaborates with various teams to provide insights and support decision-making processes, all while embodying the company's cultural values.

Responsibilities

  • Update financial plans and analyze investment opportunities.
  • Build financial models to assess return potential and monitor results.
  • Analyze current and past financial data and performance, preparing reports and projections.
  • Gather data from complex sources, reconcile data variances, and support analysis for decision making.
  • Create ad-hoc financial/metric models to assess the impact of planned business decisions.
  • Support other areas of the business based on prioritization.
  • Develop trust and partnership with key business partners.
  • Build authentic relationships with individuals in work groups and teams.
  • Participate in firm culture activities to connect with other Point B employees.

Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in finance, consulting, or a related highly analytic field.
  • Experience specific to investment analysis and/or M&A is highly desired.
  • Strong analytical skills and financial analysis foundation creating forecasts and models.
  • Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions.
  • Solid understanding of finance and business concepts; strong financial and business acumen mindset.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Salesforce, Tableau, Financial Force is a plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for enabling data-based decision making.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a consulting environment.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling software.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific financial metrics.
