About the position

TBI Airport Management, Inc. is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team at Hollywood Burbank Airport. This position is under the supervision of the Director of Financial Services and is classified as exempt. The Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in compiling and analyzing the Airport's financial data, performing financial research, and updating financial reports, models, and forecasts. The insights generated will support senior and executive management in their decision-making processes, ultimately aiding in the achievement of the Airport's financial objectives. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for a variety of essential job functions. These include compiling and analyzing data from financial, operational, and external sources, maintaining and regularly updating financial models, and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. The analyst will also identify and analyze trends using statistical analyses to develop and maintain financial metrics and forecasting models. Additionally, the role involves developing automated financial reporting and forecasting tools to enhance productivity and efficiency, performing research and analyses as required by senior management, and assisting in the annual budgeting process. Monitoring and maintaining actual financial transactions against the adopted fiscal budget and other forecasted data is also a key responsibility. The Financial Analyst will prepare presentations or reports on the results of analyses performed and will be expected to identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel/data visualization dashboards. The position may also require performing additional tasks as needed to support the financial services team.

Responsibilities

  • Compile and analyze data from financial, operational, and external sources.
  • Maintain and regularly update financial models.
  • Prepare or assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Identify and analyze trends, utilizing statistical analyses, to develop and maintain financial metrics and forecasting models.
  • Develop automated financial reporting/forecasting tools to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Perform research and analyses as may be required by senior/executive management.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process.
  • Monitor and maintain ongoing actual financial transactions to the adopted fiscal budget and other forecasted data.
  • Prepare presentations or reports on results of analyses performed.
  • Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel/data visualization dashboards.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Statistics, Data Analytics, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
  • Five plus years of full-time, paid relevant accounting experience with governmental agencies and/or paid professional experience in financial planning, analysis, and modeling.
  • Experience working directly with ERP systems and creating query-based reports.
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to perform research that involves interpretation and analysis.
  • Advanced proficiencies in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the airport and/or transportation industry.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical analyses methods.
  • Familiarity with zero-based budgeting.
  • Experience with advanced statistical and data visualization tools such as R, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI.
