About the position

The Financial Analyst position at Royal Caribbean Group is a full-time role based in Miami, Florida, reporting to the Manager of Finance. This role is crucial for supporting financial reporting, planning, analysis, and control for the People & Outreach team. The analyst will assist in delivering financial support to the benefits and facilities area, drive forecasting and planning cycles, and provide comprehensive reporting to enhance business decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all benefits and facilities invoices, ensuring correct approval and coding, and track submissions to the AP Shared Services team.
  • Oversee vendor setups for payment facilitation and investigate overdue payments.
  • Support the team by resolving queries with suppliers and the accounts payable team.
  • Track invoices and ensure all monthly accruals and releases are accurate, updating budgets accordingly.
  • Assist in the monthly and yearly closing process, including reconciliations of actual spend versus budgeted spend.
  • Help with budget templates for benefits and facilities and assist the Finance Manager in reconciling budgets/spends.
  • Conduct monthly reviews and reconciliations of budgets by area, highlighting risks or opportunities to management.
  • Analyze business performance trends and provide recommendations for improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare management reporting packs and provide commentary for variance analysis.
  • Compile cost information for budget preparation and assist in consolidating the annual operating plan/budget.
  • Deliver accurate financial forecasts in line with the deliverables calendar and assist in the monthly submission of Actuals & Forecast.
  • Support key external and internal projects as required, including business case modeling and analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting or finance.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of working experience in a commercial business setting.
  • Sound knowledge of automated accounting software and procedures.
  • Strong initiative and motivation, with the ability to take direction and use initiative effectively.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to identify issues and opportunities and suggest solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
