Crane Currency is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team in Dalton, MA. As a premier industrial technology company, we specialize in currency manufacturing and advanced micro-optics technology. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing a clear and accurate picture of our current operations, enabling your colleagues to make informed decisions that enhance efficiency. Your responsibilities will include gathering, analyzing, and reporting on potential areas for improvement, as well as participating in brainstorming sessions to develop solutions that align with our long-term goals and objectives. Your fresh perspective will be vital in driving continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to our finance roadmap. In this position, you will interpret and summarize data to report on current performance, track trends, and determine future financial expectations. You will serve as the primary point of contact for our revenue recognition program and prepare monthly manufacturing budget versus actual reports, collaborating with cost center owners to understand variances. Establishing a strong presence within the organization, you will incorporate benefit justification on assigned Process Excellence projects and manage our checkbook process for maintenance, supplies, and services, ensuring that spending is accounted for in the budget prior to issuing purchase orders. Additionally, you will participate in the SIOP process to understand volume and report sales summary data during monthly reviews. You will lead the cash flow forecast process, coordinating with supply chain and accounting to ensure accurate inputs. As the coordinator for the Expense Requests (ER's) pre-approval process, you will justify projects based on need, impact, and budget. Furthermore, you will provide financial support for key business initiatives throughout the year, including new product pricing and R&D investments. This role is essential for maintaining the financial health of our operations and supporting our strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a business-related field.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic vision.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum two years of experience in a financial analyst role.
  • Knowledge of accounting and business software including Hyperion, J.D. Edwards, Business Objects, and Adaptive Insights.
  • Familiarity with government contract accounting requirements (CAS/FAR).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment employing a standard costing system.
