About the position

The Financial Analyst - Marketing Analysis plays a crucial role in the financial evaluation of marketing strategies and culinary development initiatives. This position requires a deep understanding of financial principles and the ability to analyze various metrics that impact business performance. The analyst will partner closely with both the Marketing and Culinary teams to implement business-building initiatives, ensuring that financial insights are integrated into decision-making processes. This role is pivotal in analyzing guest counts, sales figures, margin impacts, and overall profitability, providing a comprehensive view of how marketing strategies affect the bottom line. In addition to partnering with teams, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for costing and pricing recipes based on culinary development efforts. This involves providing feedback aimed at optimizing margins while enhancing the guest experience. The analyst will also evaluate and distribute performance results for menu tests and promotions, assessing their impacts on guest counts, sales, check averages, margin, and menu mix. This requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights. The role also includes providing ad hoc analysis and reporting for various initiatives across Marketing, Culinary, and Operations. Maintaining financial forecasts and reconciling them against expected results is a key responsibility, as is leveraging systems to perform data validations. The analyst will need to identify discrepancies and opportunities for optimization, ensuring that the organization is agile and responsive to emerging trends. By analyzing and communicating these trends, the Financial Analyst will help prioritize actions that align with business goals and drive profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Marketing and Culinary teams to implement business-building initiatives, including analyzing guest counts, sales, margin, and profitability impacts
  • Cost and price recipes based on Culinary development and provide feedback to optimize margin and improve guest experience
  • Evaluate and distribute performance results for menu tests and promotions, including impacts to guest counts, sales, check, margin and menu mix
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting for various Marketing, Culinary and Operations initiatives
  • Maintain financial forecasts and reconcile against expected results
  • Leverage systems to perform data validations, identifying discrepancies and opportunities for optimizations
  • Analyze, identify, and communicate emerging trends and their impact so action is prioritized appropriately

Requirements

  • Experience in an analytical role exemplifying initiative, accuracy, and influence
  • Excellent analytical skills, strong initiative, and flexibility in analyzing results
  • Very strong knowledge of Excel. Proven spreadsheet and data retrieval skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Solid critical thinking skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Oracle, Hyperion, and Micro Strategy a plus
